The Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) has reversed an employment tribunal ruling which held that the Lord Chancellor, the government's chief legal officer, had discriminated on the grounds of sex and race in the appointment of a special advisor.
It held that in choosing someone known to him, the Lord Chancellor had discriminated against everyone else, be they men or women, black or white.
