Guidance welcomed by T&G

General union T&G has been welcomed new guidance published by the Department for Transport (DfT) to tackle crime on buses and coaches.

T&G national organiser for transport, Graham Stevenson said: "Bus drivers are public servants who shouldn't have to endure the treatment they receive at times. In the course of an ordinary day they can expect to be abused, spat at, have objects of all kinds thrown at them, be punched, knives pointed at them and even used on them, or even have guns discharged at and near to them."
