Ruling on school violence
Two recent House of Lords judgements will have important implications for health and safety in schools says teaching union NASUWT. The first case, of pupil 'P', upheld the right of a union to ballot its members over refusing to teach a violent and/or disruptive pupil. The second case, of pupil 'L', upheld the right of a school to make alternative education provision for a pupil excluded by the school but then reinstated by an Independent Appeals Panel.
