HSE materials on falls from height in schools

The HSE and three local education authorities have produced a poster and leaflet on falls from height in schools. Teachers and classroom assistants from schools in Sheffield, Trafford and Glasgow are taking part in a safety campaign to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by classroom.

In the last six years there have been five deaths and over three thousand injuries in the education sector. Teachers have fallen off chairs while putting away material or putting up a displays and classroom assistants have fallen from stools while closing windows.
