Welfare workers suffer stress
More than four fifths of workers in the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have suffered ill health as a result of pressure of work, according to public and commercial services union PCS. Nearly three quarters (72%) have thought of resigning due to overwork and a lack of staff. The findings were released as the DWP announced plans to cut up to 20% of the 120,000 plus workforce.
