ISTC inspection scheme launched

The ISTC community union is launching a union inspection notice (UIN) scheme designed to get employers to deal with safety concerns. The union has designed pocket-sized booklets and will be providing a good practice guide for reps to use in conjunction with the UINs.

Health and safety research officer Robert Sneddon said: "We are looking to empower ISTC reps to deal with members' concerns, and counteract the 'blame the worker' culture some employers have created. UINs will help our reps do their job effectively and make their workplaces safer."
