As an organisation established in 1967 in response to the racist, anti-immigration campaigns of that time, the JCWI has been in the forefront of debate.

In this very well argued booklet, it sets out a series of immediate measures needed to address the obvious injustices of current immigration policies, and then outlines a wider perspective for reform. For economic migrants, it says, policy should be based on the principle that a realistic prospect of employment should be the passport to entry and settlement.
