Consultation on REACH

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs is consulting on proposals for the enforcement of the European Union’s new chemicals regulation framework.

From 1 June, the Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH) legislation will replace much of the current patchwork of legislation covering the management, control and use of chemicals. The UK is required to have an enforcement and penalties regime in place no later than 1 December 2008.
