Texting HSE

The HSE may be low on staff, but it’s up to date with technology. It promises that anyone who texts “HSE” to 64446 or “requests a call back” by filling in an online form at www.hse.gov.uk/contact will be called back within one hour. “If you can’t come to the phone when we call back, don’t worry as our operators will try three times to call you,” it adds.

Safety reps who think they will get through to an inspector should note that the service –available 9am to 5pm on weekdays – is run by the outsourced HSE Infoline.
