Sure Start cuts
Campaiging group No Cuts for Kids has released research showing that 47 Sure Start centres will be closed within the next year, and 89% of councils are cutting Sure Start funding.
Campaign co-ordinator Louise King said this shows that prime minister David Cameron’s pre-election commitment to keep Sure Start services for the under-fives means he cannot be believed.
