Transport union considers merger
The TSSA transport staff union is considering the possibility of merger as one of a number of options for partnership working with other transport unions.
The union’s membership fell by almost 1,500 in 2010 to its current total of 26,830.
An emergency motion overwhelmingly adopted at its annual conference noted that “the slow decline in membership has started to increase in speed as the savage cuts imposed by the government continue to threaten our members’ jobs and ultimately the income of [TSSA]”.
