Plumbers get minimum mileage allowance
A minimum mileage allowance of £0.25 per mile payable to operatives or apprentices requested to use their own vehicle on company business was introduced under this year’s pay settlement for the Plumbing (Scotland and Northern Ireland) Joint Industry Board agreement. Salaries and allowances rose by 4.6% in the first year of this two-year deal while the overtime threshold was cut from 45 to 43 hours.
