Piracy pay
The International Bargaining Forum, the maritime unions’ joint negotiating body, has agreed a further extension of the piracy danger zone around Somalia and a continuation of additional pay. Crews in the area will receive double pay and double death and disability allowances, and have the right to refuse to sail outside the recommended transit corridor, says Nautilus, the maritime union.
