New negotiators’ guide

The TUC, UNISON, Unite and the GMB have teamed up with the Migrant Rights Network (MRN) to produce a negotiators’ guide on workplace checks and raids. It is aimed at trade unionists who want to know more about immigration document checks in the workplace, bargaining with employers about how checks are carried out, or who are simply concerned about UK Border Agency raids.

The guide provides a summary of the legislation on immigration document checks, workplace raids and the anti-discrimination network. It outlines issues that may arise for workers as a result of checks and raids and it gives bargaining strategies to prevent the worst problems arising.
