Union merger
The 3,500-strong Association for College Management (ACM) has voted to merge with the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) by 88% to 12% against. The formal merger will take place on 1 January 2011.
The Association of Managers in Education (AMiE), the joint venture set up while the two worked towards a merger, will form an independent section within the merged union.
