Caramel wafers
The pay dispute at Tunnock’s bakery, where Caramel wafers and Teacakes are made, has ended with a majority of staff voting to accept the third pay offer made in under a month.
The final offer was made after the Unite general union and the employer returned to talks with conciliation service Acas.
More than 500 workers at the factory in Uddingston, Lanarkshire, are to have a 2.5% increase backdated to the start of July, followed by a 2.5% increase from next July.
This follows strikes by more than 300 Unite members and a threat to step up their action.
