Union supports Better Backs campaign

The CWU communication workers’ union is lending its support to the Health and Safety Executive’s “Better Backs” campaign over the next two months.

The campaign aims to reduce the incidence of back pain and upper limb disorders at work, and so reduce the number of working days lost due to back pain. The HSE also promotes the importance of managing back pain generally by “staying active” and adopting good return-to-work practices.

Musculoskeletal disorders such as back pain remain the largest cause of occupational ill health, with around a million workers suffering every year.
