Director fined £10K
The director of a sheet metal manufacturer in Norfolk was fined £10,000 after workers were exposed to high levels of lead. The director of Anglia Lead Ltd was prosecuted along with the company over numerous health and safety failings which meant that workers could have breathed in lead dust, absorbed the substance into their skin or ingested it when they ate, drank or smoked during breaks and after work. The company was also fined £10,000 and ordered to pay costs of £10,556.
