Tribunal fees


The hearing of public services union UNISON’s case against employment tribunal fees took place recently in the Supreme Court. 


The case was heard by the Supreme Court over two days and the judgment is now eagerly awaited. 


Dave Prentis, UNISON general secretary, commented that the introduction of fees was a “terrible decision” which has “denied many thousands of people the right to seek justice”. 


Prentis stressed the importance of a judgment against fees, “to ensure that lower-paid employees with genuine grievances are not penalised”.
