More agreements now cover the self-employed
A new report on collective bargaining from the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment has found that more collective agreements now cover the self-employed. In 2022, nine collective agreements include clauses dealing with the terms and conditions of self-employed workers.
Those nine are a small proportion of the 667 agreements included in the report, but they reflect the fact that the number of self-employed in the workforce in the Netherlands has been steadily increasing, reaching 1.2 million, 12% of the total in 2022.
