Taskforce launches flexible work guide

The Flexible Working Taskforce – which brings together business organisations, professional bodies, unions and charities – has released new guidance on hybrid working. Its aim, according to chartered HR institute the CIPD, is “to help employers harness the benefits of well managed hybrid working practices which can help organisations attract and retain staff while supporting employee wellbeing, inclusion and performance”.

The guidance seeks to offer practical advice in areas such as people management, recruitment and induction, inclusion and fairness, and health, safety and wellbeing. Its launch is being supported by members of the taskforce including Acas, the British Chambers of Commerce, Carers UK, CBI, the CIPD, Chartered Management Institute, the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Federation of Small Business, the Institute of Directors, Make UK, Scope, Timewise, Working Families, and the TUC.

Peter Cheese, CIPD chief executive and taskforce co-chair, explained: “The pandemic gave us a unique opportunity to rethink the world of work and consider new ways of working that will benefit both organisations and our people. Many employers are considering how to implement hybrid working and this new guidance provides practical tips on how to do this successfully.“
