HSE marks campaign anniversary
Manchester University organisational psychology professor Cary Cooper joined HSE chair Sarah Newton in a new podcast to mark the first anniversary of the safety regulator’s Working Minds campaign. They discussed the value of good mental health, the impact work-related stress can have on staff, and how employers can spot the signs of stress.
The campaign is aimed particularly at small- and medium-sized enterprises and encourages employers to start to tackle work-related stress by talking to their staff and taking steps to support employees with their mental health in the workplace. It aims to raise awareness of stress and its impact on the mental health of workers and on businesses, and reminds employers of their legal responsibilities.
