Swedish unions grow

The number of members in unions belonging to Sweden’s three union confederations grew in 2024, but the balance between them has shifted.

The membership of unions in LO, the manual confederation, declined slightly, dropping by 1.5%, while membership rose, by 2.1%, in the non-manual TCO and by 1.5% in the graduate-based Saco.

Overall, there was a net gain of 19,350 members — despite overall employee numbers remaining static.
