Warning on ScotRail
The RMT rail union has warned the Scottish Government that a “new beginning” for ScotRail, which enters public ownership on 1 April 2022, must not mean ticket office and rail service cuts and threats to jobs.
An RMT survey showed 99% of ScotRail ticket office staff said proposals to reduce hours would worsen passenger safety. The union also says the cuts will do nothing to improve security and accessibility or encourage passengers back to the rail network.
