Common demands
The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) and the UK's TUC have produced a set of joint demands in advance of the EU-UK summit planned for May.
Among other things, the two union groups are calling for a reduction in trade barriers and border checks.
This is with a view to: improving trade flows and employment prospects; seeing the UK rejoining the Erasmus+ scheme — which allows students and apprentices to study in other countries; and agreement on the mutual recognition of professional qualifications, chemical standards and sanitary and phytosanitary checks.
