Dutch cleaners sign two-year deal
Unions have struck a deal for 130,000 workers covered by the collective agreement for cleaning. The settlement, signed on 7 May, runs for two years from July 2024. Cleaners will receive a 5.5% increase on 30 June 2024 from their previous agreement, and under the current one, will receive 3.0% on both 1 January 2025 and 2026. Inflation is currently 2.7% (April).
Rates will also increase by an additional €0.10 to €0.25 an hour on both 1 July 2025 and 1 January 2026, with the lowest paid getting the largest amounts. The agreement includes travel expenses of between €0.14 and €0.23 an hour for those who travel more than 10km, and a loyalty bonus of up to €1,000 for those employed for 20 years or more.
