Green bargaining guide

Wales TUC has launched a trade union bargaining guide for greener, healthier and fairer travel, exploring why sustainable travel is an important issue for trade unionists and what action can be taken in workplaces. In Wales, transport accounts for 15% of climate-changing emissions.

The guide says that “engagement is key” and encourages reps to use a model travel survey, which can be downloaded from the Wales TUC website, to find out how members currently travel and what needs to change for them to be prepared to try an alternative mode.

It also includes a checklist on developing workplace travel plans, and sets out steps to make walking and cycling a more attractive option.
