Warning on insecurity
Esther Lynch, general secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation, has said that the results of elections to the European Parliament, where the extreme right made significant gains, show that “Europe needs to urgently resolve the economic and social insecurity that lies behind growing anger and fear in our society”.
While she said “there is no need, or excuse, for backroom deals with any part of the anti-worker far-right … business as usual cannot continue”.
