Bike delivery workers strike

Bicycle deliveries in Vienna and other Austrian cities were interrupted last month as riders took strike action in support of their claim for higher pay. They organised their action to coincide with the times when the national football team’s matches in the European Championship were being broadcast.

The union, Vida, which organises food delivery workers, explains that negotiations on a new agreement have been at a standstill for months, and that currently, monthly pay is below the poverty level.
