Musculoskeletal disorder assessment tool

The HSE has launched a new all-in-one digital musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) assessment tool on its website that combines the manual handling assessment charts (MAC), assessment of repetitive tasks (ART) and risk assessment of pushing and pulling (RAPP) tools. Employers and safety reps can use it to assess the risks posed by physical, strenuous activities and understand, interpret, categorise and communicate the level of risk. It aims to simplify the process of completing each assessment, with a logical step-by-step approach, saving assessors time in populating the results manually.
