Work proper hours to stop burnout, says TUC
TUC analysis for its 19th annual Work Your Proper Hours Day found 3.5 million people did unpaid overtime in 2022, putting in an average of 7.4 unpaid hours a week. This is equivalent to an average of £7,200 of year in wages and £26 billion in free labour for UK employers. The campaign days encourage workers to finish their shifts on time and ask managers to set reasonable workloads and put in place workplace policies to protect against burnout.
