Majority see diversity improvements at work
More than half of employees think there’s been an improvement in diversity at work, and more than two-thirds feel everyone in their company has an equal chance to succeed, according to annual research by Hays recruitment agency.
The figures are an improvement on 2021, with 56% this year saying their firm was trying harder to diversify the workforce, compared to 42% last year, while 67% thought all employees have an equal chance, up from 57% a year ago. There was also a reduction in the proportion who felt there were limits on their chances of job selection, down from 61% in 2021 to 39% in 2022, although 33% still felt BAME workers and those over 50 were not treated as equals.
