Belgian platform workers

The Belgian government plans a consultation examining the situation of workers employed through platforms such as Deliveroo to see whether new arrangements are necessary and, if so, what they should be.

The government estimates that between 10,000 and 80,000 workers are employed in this way, although the lack of precise information, both on numbers and earnings, is one of the issues the consultation hopes to tackle.

The government will talk to employers and unions in the usual way and will also launch an online consultation forum in September.
