The government’s report into National Living Wage and National Minimum Wage enforcement during the 2022–2023 financial year, presents key statistics and identifies trends.
The year saw an increasing number of cases closed (almost 3,200) and significant arrears identified — £13.66 million in arrears was noted, affecting over 108,000 workers.
The enforcement agency, HMRC, issued 750 penalties on employers, amounting to £13.72 million.
There were no new rounds in 2022- 2023 of naming employers through the National Minimum Wage Naming Scheme, but the government is committed to resuming regular naming as a deterrent.
