ETUC calls for pay rises
Inflation had nothing to do with wage increases, said Esther Lynch, general secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) last month. Lynch was responding to the latest economic forecast from the European Commission that shows pay lagging behind inflation.
She said: “It’s time to tackle the real cause of inflation by taxing excess profits and helping its victims through pay rises in line with the cost of living.”
