National Education Union
Kevin Courtney has been elected unopposed as joint general secretary (NUT section) of the new National Education Union (NEU), a merger of the NUT and ATL teaching unions.
He will retain the post alongside Dr Mary Bousted, his counterpart in the ATL section, until 2023, when there will be an election for a single general secretary for the fully-merged NEU.
Courtney was previously general secretary of the NUT.
