Recognition claim by pharmacists’ union
The PDAU pharmacists’ union has lodged a claim for statutory recognition for pharmacists at Lloyds Pharmacy — the UK’s second largest community pharmacy employer after Boots.
The union said it had been “inundated” with contacts from concerned pharmacists at Lloyds after the company announced that it would shortly start talking about possible redundancies and contractual change.
The claim was submitted exactly one year after the PDAU concluded its eight-year battle to secure recognition at Boots, where it now has collective bargaining.
The union recently reported a 7.7% increase in membership for the year to 31 March 2020, to a total of 30,393.
