Workplace transport

The HSE has updated its guide on workplace transport safety highlighting what employers need to do to follow the law and reduce risk to its workers and the public. The guide will also be useful to safety reps.

The new guide has advice on general legal duties and information on health and safety management.

It also includes specific advice on controlling workplace transport risks focusing on three main areas: a safe site in terms of design and activity, a safe vehicle and a safe driver.

There are new sections on multi-deck vehicles as well as details of changes on weighbridges and sheeting.
