Assaults on housing staff

Public services union Unison says that more than 4,000 physical and verbal assaults on housing staff were reported in 2014 and at the beginning of 2015. The finding came out of a freedom of information request to councils and a survey of the biggest housing associations.

The union says the true figure is even higher. An anonymous survey of housing professionals by Inside Housing magazine revealed that one in three staff admit to being assaulted but not reporting incidents.
