Lone working in NHS
The Society of Radiographers is carrying out a survey of members who carry out lone working to assess the security protocols in place. The research follows on from an annual conference motion calling on the union to prioritise the safety of lone workers.
Lone workers in the NHS are those who work, either regularly or occasionally, on their own and includes those working outside normal working hours, those in direct contact with the public, those working remotely from or within a central office and those working remotely from access to standard emergency services.
Data gathered from the survey will be used by the union to highlight differences in the levels of protection for lone workers across regions and employers. The findings will be published early in 2017.
