Boost for deals in October


Pay settlements showed something of a revival in October.


The latest median from LRD’s Payline database of collective agreements was 2.5% in the three months to October — up from the 2.0% rise in September. 


However, if the standard increase is taken — the rise received by most grades or workers — the three-monthly median rise in October was 2.0% — the same rise as for September.


Official earnings data for September showed that average weekly earnings, excluding bonuses, increased by 2.2%, against a 2.3% rise the previous month.
