LGBT+ not free


Three-quarters of LGBT+ people still feel the need to lie about their sexuality or gender identity, according to research by campaigning group Pride in London.


A survey of more than 1,000 LGBT+ people in the UK found that people who are LGBT+ are six times less likely to hold a partner’s hand in public than the rest of the population, and that LGBT+ respondents are five times more likely to have been bullied at work because of their gender.


It also found that while three-quarters (75%) of LGBT+ respondents were out to all their friends, only half (50%) were out to all their colleagues. Men are much more likely to be out in the workplace (89%)) than women (76%).
