Settlements maintain rise 


In December, pay settlements maintained the healthy increase of the previous month.


In the three months to December, the overall median for collectively agreed settlements on LRD’s Payline database was 3.5%.


It was the same story across both the public and private sectors.


With inflation under the RPI rising by 2.7% in December, the median increase represents a substantial real-terms increase. 


Official figures show that in November regular pay, excluding bonuses, rose by 3.4% against the RPI increase of 3.2%.
