Inflation down
In March, the annual rate of inflation — as measured by the Retail Prices Index (RPI) — continued its slowdown and was down to 0.9% from 1.0% the previous month, according to the Office for National Statistics.
Under the government’s preferred measure, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI), the annual rate of inflation remained at 0.0% in March, its lowest level since official records were first published in January 1997.
