Equality Act guidance
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has published a handbook on the Equality Act 2010 for those advising on discrimination cases in England and Wales.
The aim of the handbook is to provide a brief overview of the 2010 Act and to act as a guide. Advisers are encouraged to use this as a starting point to direct further reading.
The handbook covers:
• the definition of the nine protected characteristics;
• an overview of different forms of conduct prohibited under the Act; and
• how the Act applies in different contexts.
