Dermatitis protection
The RCN nursing union used Glove Awareness Week — which ran from 30 April to 4 May — to remind its members about the importance of hand hygiene and appropriate glove use in the prevention of contact dermatitis and the spread of infection.
Its new guidance highlights the importance of skin health and the risks associated with the overuse of gloves and outlines employers’ responsibilities in the prevention, identification and management of contact dermatitis.
