McDonald’s was the focus in ♥Unions week
This year’s TUC’s HeartUnions week, which ran from 12-18 February, put special emphasis on McDonald’s workers, some of whom went on strike last year for the first time ever in the UK, winning a substantial pay rise.
General secretary Frances O’Grady urged the company to recognise the BFAWU food workers’ union, which represents fast food staff, and to implement a clear zero-tolerance policy on customer abuse, which is a particular problem for McDonald’s workers.
