Post-Brexit protections
The Trade Justice Movement, an alliance of 15 trade unions, environmental organisations and health and human rights groups has called for an EU-UK trade deal based on rights, justice and sustainability. It should ensure that future changes to UK legislation would improve rather than lower standards. The GMB and Unite general unions, public services union UNISON, and education unions NEU and UCU are all members of the group.
Following publication of the UK’s negotiation objectives this month, the group’s spring 2020 joint statement, Priorities for the EU-UK future trade relationship, calls for “strong Level Playing Field rules, as an underpinning for the EU-UK trade relationship”.
