UNISON election
Nominations open this month for general secretary of public services union UNISON.
The current incumbent, Dave Prentis, is expected to run again. It has been reported that the union’s national secretary for local government, Heather Wakefield, will also put her name forward, and a further possible candidate is John Burgess, secretary of the union’s Barnet Branch.
