Workplace Report July 2003

The TUC has joined with a number of unions in piloting training courses for equal pay reps. This month Workplace Report outlines the findings from a study evaluating the training, highlighting how reps are getting the confidence to push their employers to carry out equal pay reviews. With several key groups of public sector workers chasing a £4,000-a-year London weighting target, Workplace Report looks at some recent deals and lists the highest allowances in different sectors. This month's legal section focuses on race and sex discrimination law as well as rounding up the most recent cases covering tribunal procedures.
